Wasilla SWCD offers a variety of education related programs, activities and materials:

  • We offer six elementary-level lesson plans to educational staff for use with young people in schools, scouts, or other interested groups.  We can either bring the outdoors into the classroom or arrange a trip for kids to get into the field to experience nature first-hand.

  • What better way to educate kids about stream ecology than to involve them in a restoration project.  For more information on extending conservation education into site restoration projects, click here to visit our restoration page.

  • Motivate kids to share their thoughts and ideas about conservation in an art form (poster contest).  Involve them in the Poster Contest, held each year during Stewardship Week.

Our staff is happy to help with your classroom, team, troop, or youth group. Give us a call at (907) 357-4563 ext. 106 or email Catherine to set up some fun, educational opportunities for young people.
