Cooperator Services

The Wasilla SWCD provides sample testing for soil, hay, and manure/compost. Bring your dried samples into the office. We will send them to the lab, return the results to you, along with fertilizer or other appropriate recommendations from either NRCS or the Cooperative Extension Service. The District will pay for a total of 5 samples per cooperator, based upon available funding for the fiscal year. Additional samples and samples for non-cooperators will be provided at the following rates:
$25 per soil sample
$40 per forage, manure/compost sample

Crop Record Books are available at the Wasilla SWCD office, free of charge, to all Wasilla SWCD cooperators. This booklet is intended to be a useful tool to help you keep accurate field notes. By keeping up-to-date notes and observations, you can track the progress of individual fields. Record keeping is a requirement of many USDA programs and this booklet will help you stay in compliance for those programs.
